Inclusive Practice Award 2016 - Nursery World

Under the scheme, a specialist coach works with the setting leader to develop inclusive practice, through targeted coaching, training and CPD. There is a particular focus on developing leadership skills, ensuring that the progress of each child is tracked and responded to, and ‘Taking Time for Talk’, which is designed to encourage strong parental engagement in their children’s learning.

Coaches work in partnership with settings for at least two years so that best practice becomes embedded and there is an ongoing drive to maintain the quality of practice.

Free toothbrushes and toothpaste for children in oral health packs. All children in the city will receive five oral health care packs by the time they are five, which contain a toothbrush, fluoride toothpaste and oral health information

Free baby bottle swaps in all of our children, young people and family centres

•Supervised tooth-brushing. Many of our early years settings (aged 0-5) take part in our free supervised tooth-brushing programme where your children will learn how to brush their teeth properly every day.
